Sensei Joshua Joaquin

Sensei Josh Joaquin studied Tae Kwon Do for several years while in college, but left martial arts when he returned home to NH to start his chiropractic practice in 1995. While busy with his growing family and business, fitness and healthy living became less than a priority. In 2003 he was diagnosed with cancer, and that was the "wake-up call" he that changed his life.
Sensei Joaquin was introduced to Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo, when his son began training at Evans Kempo Karate. It only took watching a few classes before he decided to get on the mat and train with Master Evans also.
Today, Sensei Joaquin and both of his children train with Master Evans on a regular basis. He enjoys helping and teaching in the dojo when he can, as he believes that part of learning is teaching, and that through teaching one also learns. He finds Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo to be a complete art form, which can be applied to all areas of one's life.
When not in the dojo he is busy with his chiropractic practice in Jaffrey, and spending time with his family. In the warmer months he logs 1500-2000 miles on his bicycle, and participates in fundraising for the Lance Armstrong Foundation's LIVESTRONG campaign, empowering people affected by cancer.
